"How can I Keep From Singing?" is a song I discovered as I was perusing a hymnal for a song title for this recording. The title leaped out at me as the perfect theme for what I wanted these songs to communicate thematically ., . . songs for the believer's journey. The text and music were written by Robert Lowry, a Baptist minister (1826-1899). His plaintive melody is a perfect fit for his lyrics, which are as relevant today as they were then.
