It was in the fall of 2001, during a break in a recording session, when I asked Gordy Johnson if he would consider producing an album for me. I had this dream of recording an album of Broadway tunes, arranged with a bit of a jazz flavor. There was one significant problem with that concept – I am no jazz singer, a fact not lost on those of you who know my voice.
Well, fast forward six years, and the dream is a reality.
I received some wonderful coaching in the studio from Gordy, who not only arranged and produced this project, but ended up being a tutor, as well.
